A Morning with the Mallory Family
Pancakes, a drawing of a fox, and a field where they normally play.

I arrived at seven, while the kitchen was still the warmest room in the house, and stayed while Katie and Tom made pancakes with their two kids.
Lucy and Joel were both shy with the camera, so I did what I always do: put the camera down for the first half hour and let them get bored of me. By the time the second batch of pancakes was on the plate, I could take a few photos of them eating around the table.
Joel was telling me about his drawing of a fox, and Lucy had decided I should see her room. Naturally, the family moved towards Lucy’s room and I took some lovely shots as they explored books and played together in the morning light.

Joel then decided he wanted to ride bikes outside, so that was an easy way to transition outdoors. Everyone did a quick outfit change, and we went to a field nearby their house where they normally play. The dog followed us out, and the family huddled under their tree as I took a bunch of candids of them giggling together.

By the time the session was over they were all ready for their naps (and I was too!).

Thank you Mallory family for choosing to spend your morning with me, you’re a lovely bunch!
