A Morning with the Mallory Family

If you’re in or near the Hudson Valley, I’d love to photograph your family.
I believe it’s the real moments we treasure and I want to capture what makes your family truly yours. That’s the gift of doing a family portrait session with me.
Nothing is more valuable than capturing those early years with your children. One day these photos will make you wish you could time travel just to hold their little hands once more.
Sessions
Warm natural light, cuddles, and real connection, is how I would describe my style. From the quiet moments to all of the silliness, I love to show what it’s like to truly be in your home.

My portraits will give you something for the whole family to cherish.
I live in Cold Spring Harbor with my husband and our two daughters. Yes, this quaint little town matches our quaint little life, and I am obsessed with photographing all the tiny parts of it. The milk moustaches, the fingers covered in paint, the girls chasing after our dog, I want to remember it all.
I studied photo journalism in Brooklyn, but quickly realized the stories that I want to remember most are right here within my home. Within a month of our first daughter’s arrival, I had hundreds of pictures of her and not a single one of our whole family together. Now it’s my life’s work to ensure your whole family gets inside of the frame.
Love, Nora
AboutSessions are 90 minutes long, with short breaks included.
Don’t stress if your kids aren’t in the mood to be photographed, I’ve been doing this a while and I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to get participation. Plus, we love authenticity! Outfit changes and snack breaks are suggested!
Once your kids are warmed up to me, I’ll invite you to move around your home organically.
Let the kids play. Read to them, let them color or jump on the bed. I’ll give you some guidance, but I rarely pose you or ask you to sit still. Shoots are dynamic, fun, and genuine.
If there’s an outdoor space you’d like to explore, we’ll spend the second half outside.
The kids will be happy to frolic around — and those make the best shots anyway!
What families say afterwards
“Our children forgot the camera within minutes. They were their normal silly selves and Nora captured each of our personalities perfectly. I can’t help but smile when I look at the photo results. They feel so authentic to who we are as a family.”
