Marta and João, two days in Napa

The sunshine over the open landscape set the mood for this delightful couple’s big day. Marta and João had been dreaming of this day over their 3 year engagement, and I’ll tell you — it was worth the wait!

After spending the mornings getting ready in separate villas, they wanted me to shoot a First Look. There was this lovely pond off to one side of the chateau and I asked João to wait in front of it there. The moment he turns and sees his gorgeous bride, their nerves settle. These were some of my favorite shots of the day!

A formal garden looking over rolling hills

The ceremony itself was joyful and rich with laughter. It was evident that Marta and João are well loved by their people. I could tell that we were in for a fun evening!

I love when couples choose a family style table set up for dinner. The conversations (and the wine) flowed and it created a warmth and closeness amongst the guests that you can feel in these images here.

A crowded reception dancing on a checkered floor beneath glowing lanterns

I can still hear the spoons clinking against the glass as they continually encouraged João to kiss his bride. Marta and João, I’m so honored you chose me to capture your best day ever! Thank you.
