A bride in an ivy-hung doorway, light from the window behind her

Capturing the mood, the elegance, and the quiet reverence of your sacred union.

Wedding photography based in California, on film. A few prints from each celebration, hung here in one line; the rest are in the portfolio.

A couple small among tall trees, the light coming down through them

Most of the day happens when nobody is looking. That is the part I photograph.

I’m a total sucker for romance. Honestly, I think that’s what drew me to shoot weddings.

I make the small details feel big, and the quiet moments feel noticed. I work seamlessly in the background, gathering all of the images that will piece together the story of your dream wedding.

Whether it’s just the two of you eloping in the Redwood forest or 200 of your friends until dawn, if you’re in California I want to photograph your love story.

How a day goes
Before

A conversation, a walk

We meet once, on a call or in San Francisco, and talk about the day and the people in it. If the place is new to me I walk it the week before, at the hour you will be there.

The day

From the morning to the last song

I arrive while the house is still quiet and stay until the dancing has gone on long enough that nobody is watching the door. I do not direct; I stand a little way off and wait.

After

Film, then a box of prints

The rolls go to the lab, the scans come back to me and I print the best of them by hand. You have the prints in a box within three months, and the rest online.

Kind words

What I loved best about the prints was that Odile was able to freeze time in some of the small and most memorable moments of our day.

I can’t stop looking at the gallery of photos that Odile sent us. She is remarkably talented and you can’t put a value on these images from our best day ever.
