Inês and Tomás, a wedding in Montecito.

Their story unfolds in a secret garden between the stone pillars.

I spent the morning getting ready with the bride, photographing the tears and excitement of each bridesmaid and her mother seeing Inês in her dress for the first time.

When her father walks in, I try to keep the tears back myself. I head over to check on Tomás and the guys — they’re a blast to shoot. Overall, the mood is light and relaxed and Tomás is ready to see his beautiful wife!

With the villa as their background, the guests start to fill the empty seats. The sun moves in and shines between each stone pillar, creating a dramatic effect that I’m grateful for. In front of 100 or so of their loved ones, they give the most moving vow exchange. Tears, again.

I usher Inês and Tomás to a private area in the secret garden to capture their first moments alone as husband and wife (one of my favorite parts). You could basically hear their hearts beating wildly between each stolen kiss and loving gaze. I mean, just look at these photos!

As the reception was underway, we got some spectacular shots in the forest with the wedding party and the families. The guests were on their feet when it was time for the newlyweds to enter the great hall.

Dancing and champagne spilled into the night. Thank you Inês and Tomás for letting me be a part of your wedding day!

It truly was a celebration to remember.
